In this lecture on amendments in the news, Syracuse University professor and author of When Freedom Speaks, Lynn Greenky will focus on the First Amendment. Heavily discussed in the media and widely invoked, but not always well understood, the First Amendment brings together several concepts of protection. Greenky will discuss current topics in the news with a goal of providing an opportunity to think more critically about the impacts and make the concepts more applicable to everyday life. This course is part of the Newmark Civic Life Series, a pro-democracy initiative, brought to you by the Belfer Center for Innovation & Social Impact.
