Charles Laquidara’s Big Mattress was an iconic production running for over 30 years on WBCN and WZLX FM in Boston. Along the way, his crazy cast of characters (Duane Ingalls Glasscock, The Cosmic Muffin, Billy West and others) had legions of fans including a young Boston University student named Howard Stern.

But WBCN wasn’t just Charles (don’t tell him!), there were others involved that lit up the airwaves. Who can forget Cap’n Ken Shelton and the Mighty Midday?! What about Nik Carter’s Afternoon Fiasco, Oedipus’s iconic Nocturnal Emissions broadcasts, Bradley Jay, Albert O, and countless others. We bet you have your favorites!
