Justice Southbury will offer the eighteenth in its Speaker Series of interactive Zoom conversations at 7 p.m. Sunday, December 8.
Retired Judge Thomas Moukawsher will lead a discussion entitled “Lessons on Democracy Learned on the Bench: Exploring Constitutional Litigation on Education and Emergency Powers.”
As a complex litigation judge in Connecticut, Judge Moukawsher’s decisions concerning education, opioid litigation, and the separation of powers, earned national attention.
Judge Moukawsher contributes a weekly column on legal matters to Newsweek magazine, has appeared several times as legal commentator on CNN, and has published numerous opinion pieces in USA Today, Salon, The Hill, CNN, Bloomberg, and others.
Moukawsher is the author of the 2023 book “The Common Flaw, Needless Complexity in the Courts and 50 Ways to Reduce It.”
